To Control the Spread of the Zika Virus in the Pune Region, the Maharashtra government has issued an advisory I Prevention l Symptoms l Treatment

The rapidly spreading Zika virus in Pune, Maharashtra, has prompted the state government to issue an advisory for proper monitoring and necessary treatment to prevent its further spread. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of closely monitoring pregnant women who test positive for Zika.

    Zika  is a Virus  which is transferable through sexual contact, a person get infested this virus after bitting the Aedes Mosquitoes, outbreaks of the virus have happened throughout the world. Many people infected with zika virus will not have symptom or will only havea mild symptoms. although, infested person can experience some symptoms which can be for short period through ziks virus such as:

  • Fever
  • Rashing on the body
  • Headache over the period
  • Joint pain

Treatment

Although there is no specific treatment or cure for the Zika virus, managing the symptoms can help ease discomfort and lower the risk of complications during recovery. If you experience symptoms, you should:

  • Need plenty of rest to cure from Zika Virus
  • Start drinking lots of fluid to prevent dehydration
  • Use over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) to alleviate fever and pain
  • Avoid taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) until dengue virus infections are ruled out due to the risk of bleeding.

The woman's health remains stable, and hospitalization was unnecessary, according to reports.

Among the seven cases reported in the city, two pregnant women, aged 28 and 35, are included. Zika virus infection in pregnant women can potentially lead to microcephaly, a condition characterized by abnormal brain development resulting in a significantly smaller head size in infants.

The initial Zika virus case was identified in Erandwane, where a 46-year-old doctor's diagnosis was confirmed.
